Centre Console Boats

The reason you buy a Centre console boat is to fish.  The layout of having the console in the middle of the boat means that the rest of the space is for putting eskies, tackle boxes and anything else you want to take for fishing purposes!

Plenty of space means you can cast lures, bottom fish put lines on outriggers and down riggers – it’s a fisher’s delight – all this space to fish from!

There generally isn’t a lot of seating on a centre console layout – if you want to sit while fishing, sit on the side decks or the eskies.

The centrally located console means that you have great visibility for driving and keeping a lookout on the water. A rear mounted console (towards the back of the boat) offers the best ride!

There are normally a lack of creature comforts on a CC, so if your family or regular crew needs a comfy bunk to take a nap or privacy to pee, this isn’t the style you’re looking for!

You can shade a CC with a T-Top or custom canopy which if well designed and fitted are very handy to have on hot long drives to the reef.  The design will affect fish ability and offer much less shade than a conventional cabin layout boat.  A custom T-Top will also give you the opportunity to fit rocket launchers to carry extra fishing gear.

We have a big range of Centre Console boats at Townsville Marine – from the ever popular Flagship brand, the Sea Jay Vision plate series as well as Bar Crusher XS & WR models (check out the 670WR with the 175 Yammie on our website).  Then we have the fibreglass Hooker Pro Fisherman Series including the legendary 6M Hooker PFII, the tried and tested 6.7 recently released 5.5M.

The big daddy of them all is the Hooker 8M PF Series II in stock which is due to be fitted up with the 350V8 Yamaha.  Now we’re fishing!
